Making a Difference Through Learning and Innovation
North York General has a long-standing reputation as an outstanding teaching organization, providing training across all of our hospital’s clinical programs to physicians, nurses and other health-care professionals.
Affiliated with the University of Toronto, as well as a number of other academic institutions, we are training the next generation of health-care professionals to provide the highest standards of care focusing on quality, safety, and an outstanding patient and family experience.
Using an interprofessional approach, our physicians and staff teach and train future family doctors and specialists in essential comprehensive care. With a strong focus on the family, this approach prepares students to work effectively as part of a team, supporting patient safety and patient satisfaction.
As a learning organization, our teachers are learners too, and are role models representing the importance of continuous education in health care. Our trainees learn the importance of teamwork and collaboration in achieving comprehensive care and optimal patient outcomes.
Several of our clinical programs are involved in providing continuing education conferences that offer valuable updates for practising clinicians from across Canada. In addition, North York General provides training in health-care administration and leadership.
