North York General Hospital's Research Ethics Board (REB) facilitates and supports research within the organization and on behalf of the hospital. It ensures that all research involving human participants is conducted using the highest standards of safety, confidentiality and quality of research at all hospital sites.
All research projects involving North York General Hospital staff, patients or trainees as research subjects must obtain ethical approval from the Research Ethics Board. The Board is responsible for ensuring that this research meets current scientific or ethical standards.
The Researh Ethics Board reports to the Board of Governors through the Medical Advisory Committee.
