Promoting Osteoporosis Wellness Through Education, Exercise and Resources  (POWER)
 
This is a 7-week education, nutrition and exercise wellness program for older adults with age-related osteoporosis, a brittle bone disease that is the leading cause of hip fractures. This program provides older adults diagnosed with osteoporosis with strategies to slow down their bone loss, prevent falls, and maintain a healthy and active lifestyle for as long as possible. The program is offered twice a year, in the spring and in the fall.

Be BoneSmart at Home Video

The POWER Program of Toronto, in partnership with the Osteoporosis Society has developed a 38-minute video that features exercises to maintain bone strength, improve posture and balance, strengthen muscles and increase flexibility. In addition to the exercise program, the BoneSmart video includes a section on how to prevent falls, a major cause of fractures for people with osteoporosis.
