Family and Community Education Sessions on Substance Use/Addiction
North York General Hospital's Addiction Program regularly offers family and community education and information sessions at the Branson Ambulatory Care Centre. Dates of upcoming sessions are included here as they become available. All are welcome

This addiction and recovery education night is being offered for family members and interested members of the community. Open to all. Attendance is free of charge. Pre-registration is not required.

Location: Branson Ambulatory Care Centre, North York General Hospital, 555 Finch Ave. West, Main/First Floor, in the group room just inside the East Entrance of the building.

Topics will include:
  • Definitions of substance use, misuse, abuse, and addiction
  • What is taught to the client who is attending the program
  • How can I help someone who has a substance abuse problem or addiction, and/or how can I support someone who is in recovery
  • What kinds of things are not helpful in addressing a substance abuse problem or addiction, in myself or someone I know
  • How can I access help
