Getting the most of your medications

The North York General Hospital Pharmacy at our General site offers individualized one-on-one pharmacist to patient medication assessment and education sessions to address any questions about drug therapy and disease management.

As these sessions may be up to 30 minutes, patients (or their health care provider) should call the pharmacy to make an appointment. There is no charge to the patient for these sessions.

Medication management

Managing several medications can be confusing. With all the different instructions and potential side effects, its hard to know if your drugs are working as well as they should. The Ontario government has realized the importance of proper medication management and the role of the pharmacist in ensuring better health outcomes. For that reason, the government has implemented this program for Ontario residents.

What is MedsCheck?

The MedsCheck program enables you to book an annual discussion with one of our pharmacists in the outpatient pharmacy. This comprehensive review is a great opportunity to find out how your prescription, over-the-counter and alternative medications may be affecting you or each other. The pharmacist will provide you with an accurate and up-to-date medication list to take with you that can be used by other health care professionals to optimize your care.
