Marina Brezinov awarded scholarship to UofT's Education Scholars Program

Marina Brezinov, Professional Practice Lead for Nursing, is the successful recipient of a North York General Hospital scholarship for the University of Toronto Education Scholars Program.

The Education Scholars Program is a two-year longitudinal leadership development program for health professional educators, fostering academic excellence, creativity and scholarly productivity in education. The program builds capacity by enhancing competence in education leadership, scholarship, curriculum and teaching thus facilitating opportunities for advancement.

Marina has been the Professional Practice Leader for Nursing at North York General since 2013 and is committed to creating a practice environment that results in exceptional quality and safe nursing care for patients and families. She demonstrates an extraordinary knowledge of evidence-based practices and is frequently sought out as a mentor and advisor for professional practice. Marina is in the final stages of completing a Master's in Health Management at McMaster University.

The application process for both the Education Scholars Program and the NYGH scholarship was competitive and rigorous. Marina will be sharing her new knowledge and skills developed in the program as she continues in her role at NYGH.
