General Site

Our largest facility, the General Site is a community teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Toronto. It offers a full range of services to all individuals, from the most fragile infants to the elderly. All inpatient services are located at the General Site and we have 400 inpatient beds. It is home to the 24-hour full service Charlotte & Lewis Steinberg Emergency, one of Canada's busiest emergency departments.

Branson Site and the Urgent Care Centre

Our Branson Site provides Medical Imaging and Laboratory services, Geriatric Medicine and Geriatric Psychiatry Clinics, Child and Adolescent Mental Health services, Adult Mental Health, Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT) and Audiology Services. In collaboration with partner hospitals, the Branson Site is also home to the Gale and Graham Wright Prostate Centre, Total Joint Assessment Centre, and High Volume Cataract Centre.

Our Urgent Care Centre at the Branson Site is open from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., 7 days a week and serves the urgent care needs of our community. No appointment is necessary.

Branson is also a site for the Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP), a provincial program providing high quality early detection breast cancer screening to women.

Paediatric speech and language services are now provided at the Branson Site through North York General Hospital programs and community partner agencies. The hospital manages the North Quadrant of the Toronto Preschool Speech and Language Services.

The Seniors' Health Centre is the hub of services for seniors at North York General Hospital. It includes a 192-bed long-term care home (tel: (416) 756-0066).

Ambulatory Geriatric Services
The primary focus of the Ambulatory Geriatric Services is to help seniors living in our community to maintain their sense of dignity and independence through improved health and quality of life.

On-site specialized geriatric services include medicine clinics, geriatric psychiatry clinics and outreach, day hospital, POWER and Building the Bridge to Better Bones programs for osteoporosis. The Memory Clinic, Living Well with Parkinson's Program, Chiropody and Chronic Disease Self-Management Program are also located at the Seniors' Health Centre. Referrals for these services as well as those offered at the Branson Site are coordinated through Central Intake at the Seniors' Health Centre: (416) 756-6050 ext. 8060.
