Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Provider's Course

North York General Hospital offers Advanced Cardiac Life Support Courses at various times throughout the year. Our courses are taught using the latest published guidelines from the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada and the American Heart Association.

Dates for the next course will be posted when available.

Participants can take either the 2-day full certification course or the 1-day recertification (requires having successfully completed an ACLS Provider's Course in the past 2 years).

Courses are offered to any health care professional seeking ACLS certification. Registrants in the past include practicing physicians, residents, nurses, respiratory therapists and paramedics.

Our ACLS Medical Director is Dr. Arun Sayal — a full-time emergency physician at North York General Hospital, Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto, and an ACLS Course/Medical director since 1995. Our ACLS instructors are primarily practicing emergency physicians — selected for both their clinical expertise and their excellence in teaching.

We can also offer courses customized for specific groups (minimum of 15 registrants required) - subject to room and instructor availability.
