A North York General Hospital Foundation Volunteer is a valued and integral part of our Fundraising process. Volunteers are always treated with dignity, respect, thoughtfulness and consideration. Their integrity and values will never be compromised. Importance of Volunteering North York General Hospital Foundation is charged with the responsibility of fundraising for the North York General Hospital. Funds that are raised by the Foundation support the Hospital's capital costs, new equipment, medical programs and educational training courses for Hospital personnel. Why Volunteer? Volunteering for North York General Hospital Foundation is fun, exciting and exhilarating. You will get to use your most useful skills, while being trained to learn new ones. On top of that you will get to meet a great number of new people. Most importantly, you will see how your efforts have directly impacted the success of raising funds, which ultimately benefits the Hospital. Who are our Volunteers? (Photo Gallery) Our volunteers come from diverse cultural and social backgrounds and range in age from 16-85 years. They are people who are trying to learn new skills, members of religious congregations, former patients who want to give back, homemakers and retired individuals with time to give. They are men, women and young people who truly care about embracing and enhancing the lives of our patients and those in our community.
