Three Cheers for Orthopaedic Health!"Hip Hip Hooray" -- Saturday May 24th, 2008
Over the past 15 years this unique event has raised more than $127,000 for North York General Hospital's orthopaedics program, including the Gulshan and Pyarali G. Nanji Orthopaedic and Plastics Centre. Rather than your typical 10-kilometre run, Hip Hip Hooray! is a short 1km walk for patients, their families, orthopaedic caregivers, and anyone who wants to support orthopaedic research and care. It is a nation-wide walk with 31 sites that participate annually from coast-to-coast, raising money for the Canadian Orthopaedic Foundation and their local hospitals, all while celebrating the independence orthopaedic surgery brings. Funds raised through this event have helped fund the new orthopaedic operating rooms and the new fracture room at the Hospital. This year, we are also planning to purchase a mini C-Arm - a portable fluoroscope to allow even more precision in the operating room. If you were not able to join as a walker this year, it is not too late to join in spirit! Please consider supporting orthopaedic care in your community with a donation.
