Hbc Run for Canada Friday, July 1, 2005 Ontario Place North York General Hospital will celebrate Canada Day across the nation as we take part in the second annual "Hbc Run for Canada". This year, for the first time, the event is taking place in seven locations across Canada (Victoria, Calgary, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Algonquin Park, Halifax and Toronto). North York General Hospital is thrilled to be part of this exciting event and partner with Hbc Foundation. The proceeds from each Run will remain in the host communities and will be directed back to the selected charity if the charity's name is indicated on the pledge form. There is a 10 km run for the running enthusiasts, as well as a 3 km family walk and a 1 km run for kids. To qualify for a registration fee refund after the event you need to bring in $200 in pledges for the 10 km run. In order to receive a refund for the 3 km family walk (as a single member) pledges of $100 are required. Further details are available on the Hbc Run for Canada web site listed below. We encourage you to gather as many pledges as possible and don't forget to designate your pledges to North York General Hospital. If you don't have the required number of pledges, the cost to enter is $43 for the 10 km run, $20 for the 3 km walk, if walking as a single walker, $60 for a group of 4 in the 3 km walk, and $15 for the 1 km Kids Run. This is a wonderful way to celebrate Canada Day at Ontario Place, which is the site of the Toronto Run. Admission to the park is free if you are a run participant or volunteer.
