Special Events Golden Gala: October 2003 The 2003 Golden Gala was held Saturday, October 25 at the Hilton Suites Toronto/Markham. The 2nd biennial Golden Gala was a glamorous event that featured a cocktail reception, silent auction, dinner, dancing, and entertainment. The event raised funds for Seniors' Health Programs at North York General Hospital. This special evening was hosted by Global Television Evening News Anchor, Beverly Thomson. The community served by North York General Hospital has the highest percentage of elderly patients in the country and the number is rising. For most seniors, medical, functional and psychosocial problems threaten not only their health, but also their independence. North York General Hospital supports the health and dignity of seniors by offering a range of coordinated specialized geriatric day and long- term care services.
