The BMO Financial Group Breast Diagnostic Centre provides fast-track diagnostic and clinical services, support and advice for patients with suspicious breast lesions, or breast anomalies. Since its beginnings in 1997 as one of the first breast diagnostic centre for high-risk patients in Canada, it has evolved and grown into a vital community resource for both women and men. The BMO Financial Group Breast Diagnostic Centre has seen a total of about 10,000 patients since opening. Each year, the Centre provides care to approximately 1,200 patients; 98% are women and 2% are men.

Patients referred to the BMO Financial Group Breast Diagnostic Centre are supported by a multi-disciplinary team. This team is composed of a Coordinator, four Surgeons who operate on a rotating basis, Radiologists, Pathologists, Mammography and Ultrasound Technicians, Social Workers, Administrative Support Staff and Volunteers. Patients also benefit from spiritual support provided by the Hospital's Pastoral Services department. Staff at the Centre access the resources necessary to address patients' health concerns while coordinating X-ray bookings, consultations and referrals. With all the resources needed for outstanding patient and family-centred care gathered in one location, this support reduces delays and lowers patients' stress levels.
