Child and Adolescent Mental Health The Paediatric and Mental Health Programs work close together to offer children and adolescents integrated mental health services. We have recently made changes to provide the community with the easiest access possible to our services. There is only one number to call, (416) 756-6642, for all mental health services for children and adults. We work with other mental health agencies, public health, local schools and child care centres to promote emotional, social and physical health and assist children and adolescents to reach their highest potential. Services include: Child and Adolescent Mental Health (0-19 years), Medical Psychiatry (6-19 years), and the Adolescent Health Service (Harrison Teen Clinic, 12-19 years). A limited number of services are available in French. Child and Adolescent Mental Health Inpatient Unit A 6-bed inpatient unit serves children and adolescents up to 19 years old who have serious mental health problems. The goal is to keep the child or adolescent with their family and within their community where possible. The Child and Adolescent Mental Health inpatient services feature comprehensive, family-centred care, individual treatment, and partnerships with other agencies, including schools. A strong interdisciplinary team of health professionals provides assessment and treatment using a variety of methods. |
