Orthopaedic and Plastics Centre
With more than 14,000 patient visits annually, the
Gulshan & Pyarali G. Nanji Orthopaedic and Plastics Centre
is our hospital's second busiest area, after Emergency. The centre at
the General Site serves people of all ages most children, teens
and adults come in through our Charlotte & Lewis Steinberg Emergency.
The centre's goal is to help patients return to an active life as quickly
as possible.
The Gulshan & Pyarali G. Nanji Orthopaedic and Plastics Centre
officially opened on November 28, 2006. This state-of-the art facility
is five times the size of the previous space.and features:
Four separate treatment rooms, including a paediatric room
Separate plastic and casting area
An assessment area for patients receiving physiotherapy
Dedicated waiting area
Common services provided by the orthopaedic component of the centre
are: assessing and treating broken bones and fractures; putting on and
removing casts and splints; removing stitches and providing follow-up
care for fractures and joint replacements (hip and knee). Physician

The plastics component of the centre involves reconstructive
or plastic surgery on bone, skin, arteries, nerves and muscles. We provide
assessment, treatment and follow-up for a variety of injuries like burns,
wounds related to an injury, accident, ulcers on the body, and hand
injuries (where staff work in collaboration with occupational and physical
therapists).
