In all specialties, our interdisciplinary teams represent physicians and health care professionals from other areas like Medical (Diagnostic) Imaging, Laboratory Medicine and Paediatrics. These dedicated professionals include nurses, social workers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nurse practitioners, respiratory therapists, dietitians, and audiologists. We have an excellent Department of Anaesthesiology whose practice is enhanced by modern anaesthesia machines that provide for optimal patient safety. Advanced methods of pain control are utilized, including patient controlled analgesia. North York General Hospital's radiologists utilize the latest imaging technology to assess, diagnose and treat patients. General radiology, fluoroscopy, mammography, ultrasound, nuclear medicine and computed tomography (CT) are available at both our General (4001 Leslie St.) and Branson (555 Finch Ave.) sites. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and interventional radiology services are provided at the Leslie Street site. The surgeons and staff in the Orthopaedic and Plastics Centre provide follow-up care for patients with medical problems including fractures, joint replacements, reconstructive surgery, lacerations, and ulcers. |
