How to Become A Volunteer

Recruitment for the Adult Volunteer Program at North York General Hospital
runs year-round. Information Sessions are held between the months of
August and May each year. These sessions provide interested candidates
with the opportunity to meet some of our valued volunteers who provide
a personal view about volunteer opportunities at the hospital.

Complete an Application
Form. |

Submit two Reference
Check Forms. |

Complete the mandatory two step
Tuberculosis Skin Test and submit completed Communicable Diseases
Surveillance Protocol Form, pending placement confirmation. |

Register for and attend a general Information
Session. You may bring your completed forms and submit these at
the session. |

volunteer@nygh.on.ca.
Confirmation of registration will be provided by a member of the
Volunteer Services Department

Volunteer Position Description outlining the major duties and responsibilities
is given to each successful candidate for their respective service assignment.
Listed below are some of the sample placements we offer across our
three sites. You are required to make a weekly commitment of one
day per week, three to four hours per shift. Please note that placements
are offered based on suitability and availability.
