 Welcome!

Our volunteers play a key role in enhancing the patient and family experience at North York General Hospital. A diverse group of over 900 adult and student volunteers support a number of clinical and non-clinical areas at our three sites.

Last year alone, our volunteers contributed 90,202 hours of service to North York General Hospital. They have raised over $5 million to support programs throughout the hospital, with a current pledge of $3 million towards the Volunteer Services Centre for Medical Imaging.

The Volunteer Services Department also offers co-operative education placements to secondary students from the Toronto District School Board, York District School Board and the Toronto Catholic School Board.

Our volunteers and our co-operative education students are a valued and integral part of our hospital team — they play an important role in making our core values "Listening-Learning-Leading-Serving" a reality in support of our evolving vision "Community of Success: Serving with Kindness."
