At North York General Hospital, patient safety is our top priority, and we are dedicated to fostering a culture of safety, empowering patients, and consistently assessing our performance to look for ways to enhance patient safety and care quality across all our services.
The Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care requires that all hospitals report specific safety indicators, which are detailed below. We invite you to examine our performance in these areas.
North York General Hospital Patient Safety Indicators and Reporting Frequency:
- Nosocomial Clostridioides difficile (C. difficile) infection (monthly)
- Antibiotic-resistant bloodstream infections (monthly)
- Hand hygiene compliance (annually)
- Surgical safety checklist compliance (every three months)
