Do you have a research or innovation idea that will improve the patient experience, advance organizational excellence, or create relevant new knowledge in the delivery of health care? The North York General Hospital Exploration Fund could help turn this idea into a reality.
Designed to build on our Academic Foundation, the NYGH Exploration Fund supports staff and physicians as they create and study new and better ways to meet the growing needs of our community. Supported through a partnership between philanthropic supporters, NYGH, and the North York General Foundation, this fund marks a new and exciting phase in research and innovation at our hospital. All staff and physicians are encouraged to apply and any application will receive careful consideration.
The Sellors Family Research Grant, a designated time-limited fund within the Exploration Fund is also accepting applications for research in the areas of: Autoimmune disease, Neurology, Quality of Life, for funding up to $49,000.
Small Grant applications, that will be considered for funding up to $7,500, are strongly encouraged.
Proposals are judged on the scientific merit, the innovative spirit, the novel concept or the potential innovation that can result from the project.
Successful submissions will be required to receive ethics and operational approval from the Hospital's Research Ethics Board (REB), if applicable, and the Office of Research & Innovation (ORI), respectively. Before funds can be accessed, REB and ORI approval must be received for applicable projects.
For research projects, an expected outcome will be a publication in a peer-reviewed journal. For innovation projects, an expected outcome could be a publication and/or a demonstration of potential impact. For more information, please see the application form.
