Masks Required Where Patients Receive Care
During the 2024/25 fall/winter respiratory virus season, Influenza, COVID, RSV and other viruses will be circulating in our community.
To protect our most vulnerable patients, anyone coming to the hospital and our sites must now wear a mask if entering patient care areas, including waiting rooms, designated patient lounges and the outpatient pharmacy.
Please note: the Seniors’ Health Centre has a separate policy consistent with provincial directives for Long-Term Care Homes.
NYGH remains a mask-friendly environment and masking remains optional and welcomed in all public, non-patient care areas. Masks are available at all entrances and in clinical areas.
We continue to ask that visitors not come to the hospital if they are feeling unwell or are showing symptoms of a respiratory or other illness. Also please practice good hand hygiene and keep your vaccinations up to date.
NYGH along with other hospitals in Toronto will re-evaluate our masking policy as needed based on respiratory virus activity.
