Critical Care Unit refresh

This July, North York General Hospital (NYGH) will begin a refresh of the Critical Care Unit (CrCU) on the 6th floor. The refresh is one of the many ways of North York General Hospital is working to enhance the patient experience by improving our care environment which has been generously supported by the PwC Bermuda Appreciation Charity Fund through the North York General Foundation.

The CrCU refresh project has two components: the first being a refresh of the physical space, which includes patient family waiting room with a new comfortable seating, public use computer station and a new nourishment centre with counter space, a sink and space for a microwave, and modernization of the CrCU education and conference room. Thesecond component will include the installation of bedside monitors that will be accessible to patients and families, providing the following services:

  • Internet
  • Movies
  • Relaxation videos
  • Radio/Music
  • Games
  • Wi-fi hotspot
  • Education videos
  • Surveys regarding hospital services
  • Hospital information on the NYGH website

Patient care in the clinic will not be impacted as a result of the refresh. Please visit the Critical Care Unit to learn more about the unit. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience as we work to improve our hospital.
