Physicians honoured by the University of Toronto

University of Toronto, Faculty of Medicine

In April 2019, the following North York General Hospital physicians were honoured by the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine for their commitment and pursuit of excellence in education:

Dr. Risa Bordman, a Family Physician in our Family and Community Medicine Program, is the recipient of the Award of Excellence in Education Scholarship from the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto. The award recognizes Dr. Bordman's outstanding contributions to education scholarship and knowledge building in family medicine.

Dr. Brian Yau, an Anesthesiologist in our Surgery Program, is the recipient of the 2019 University of Toronto's Faculty of Medicine for Excellence in Community-Based Teaching.The award recognizes Dr. Yau's significant contributions to the learning of medical students and residents at the university's Faculty of Medicine.

Dr. Adam Hutchison-Jaffe, a Respirologist in our Medicine and Elder Care Program, is a recipient of the Peters Boyd Academy Teaching Award for Case Based Learning.

Dr. Moises Maria, a Neurologist in our Medicine and Elder Care Program, is a recipient of the Peters Boyd Academy Teaching Award for Clinical Skills.

Dr. Joey Latino, a Paediatrician in our Maternal, Newborn and Paediatric Care Program, is a recipient of the Peters Boyd Academy Teaching Award for Case Based Learning.

Dr. Josephine Dunston, a Family Physician in the Family and Community Medicine Program, is a recipient of the Peters Boyd Academy Teaching Award for Portfolio Tutoring.

Dr. Karthika Devarajan, an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in the Maternal, Newborn and Paediatric Care Program, is a recipient of the Peters Boyd Academy Teaching Award for Clinical Teaching in Clerkship.

Dr. Martin Shack, a Family Physician in the Family and Community Medicine Program, is a recipient of the Peters Boyd Academy Teaching Award for Clinical Teaching in Clerkship.
