COVID Testing

Anyone who needs to see a health care professional for their cough, cold, or COVID symptoms may book an appointment at the North York Cough, Cold and COVID Test Clinic to be assessed. A physician or clinician will determine next steps and/or if a PCR COVID test is needed.

If you test positive on a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) you do not need to confirm results with a PCR test.

If you have one or more of the following symptoms, do not come to the Test Clinic. Please call 9-1-1 or go to your nearest Emergency Department:

     - Severe difficulty breathing

     - Severe chest pain or tightness

     - Feeling confused

     - Losing consciousness

    Criteria for Testing

North York Cough, Cold and COVID Test Clinic

The North York Cough, Cold and COVID Test Clinic provides assessment and testing for eligible people for COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses only.

In accordance with Ontario’s updated COVID-19 PCR testing criteria, the North York Cough, Cold and COVID Test Clinic will only provide COVID-19 testing to eligible groups (see above eligibility). People with mild symptoms are asked not to seek testing but may book an appointment for assessment. If you already have a confirmed appointment but no longer meet the criteria, the clinic will still honour your prior appointment.

People with severe symptoms such as chest pain, severe difficulty breathing, altered state of consciousness, and confusion should proceed directly to the Emergency Department.
