Dr. Benjamin Bell is a specialist in General Internal Medicine with an appointment at North York General Hospital. He is a Lecturer in the Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto. Dr. Bell is passionate about advocacy and safety in healthcare. He has pursued these interests in part on the executive of the North York General Hospital Medical Staff Association, as a member of the North York General medical and hospital quality committees, and on the medical advisory committee. He also serves as the Past President of the General Internal Medicine Section Chair at the Ontario Medical Association. He is an active member of Thrombosis Canada and, in this role, has been involved in developing online knowledge translation tools, guides, and algorithms to provide health care providers with point-of-care decision aids.
Ben obtained his MD from the University of Toronto in 2008, where he also pursued his internal medicine residency, followed by a general internal medicine fellowship.
His clinical interests include benign hematology (thrombosis, iron deficiency, cytopenias), heart failure, coronary artery disease, COPD/asthma, and acute medicine.
