Dr. Melissa Ho, MD FRCPC, completed her medical degree and anesthesiology residency training at the University of Toronto. She is an ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia expert with advanced training in continuous peripheral nerve blockade techniques. During her regional anesthesia fellowship and clinical associateship year at St. Michael’s Hospital, Dr. Ho successfully completed the Certificate Course at the Centre for Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (C-QuIPS) at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Ho is passionate about applying quality improvement principles towards environmental sustainability and planetary health. She co-leads the North York General Hospital Perioperative Sustainability Committee and has led multiple initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of surgical and anesthesia care. She is a current faculty fellow at the University of Toronto Collaborate Centre for Climate, Health and Sustainable Care. She also collaborates with the Ontario’s Anesthesiologists Environmental Sustainability Working Group and Toronto Academic Health Science Network sustainability working group to coordinate efforts across multiple institutions.
