If You Don’t Have a Family Doctor
If you do not have a family doctor or paediatrician for your baby, please see the below list of primary care providers who may be able to provide care for your baby.
NOTE: each doctor’s availability may change throughout the year. In Ontario, the majority of healthy babies are cared for by family physicians. We encourage you to find a physician as soon as possible to ensure the baby’s first check-up takes place within 1-3 days of discharge from hospital.
If you are still having trouble securing a family doctor for your baby:
Option 1: You can register with Health Care Connect to have a nurse find a doctor or nurse practitioner for you.
Option 2: Call Health Care Connect Ontario at 1-800-445-1822 from Monday to Friday 9 a.m.- 5 p.m.
