COVID-19 Outbreak Over at the General Site
Updated statement: November 9, 2020
North York General has declared the outbreak of COVID-19 over in the Surgical Program on Monday, November 9. Non-emergent surgeries that were postponed have now resumed.
We worked closely with Toronto Public Health and our Infection Prevention Control team to implement all the appropriate measures to protect patients and staff to limit the risk of further transmission including increased surveillance, testing, enhanced cleaning protocols and additional safety precautions.
As always, our top priority is the health and safety of our people, patients, residents and our community.
North York General remains open and is a safe place for patients, designated visitors and caregivers.

North York General Hospital has declared the outbreak of COVID-19 over at its long-term care home, Seniors’ Health Centre (SHC).
We worked closely with Toronto Public Health and our IPAC team to implement all appropriate safety measures to limit the risk of further transmission.
As always, our top priority is the health and safety of our residents, people and community.
