North York General Hospital (NYGH) is proud to be named one of Canada’s Best Employers 2024 by Forbes. The Forbes ranking recognizes 300 top-tier Canadian organizations selected by employees as the best places to work.

“This incredible achievement is a reflection of the strong and talented NYGH team who works tirelessly providing our communities with the highest quality of care,” said Dr. Everton Gooden, President and CEO, North York General Hospital. “Every day, we strive to be the hospital of choice for patients, staff, physicians, and learners. Investing in our people is directly tied to outstanding patient care.”

Forbes and Statista selected Canada’s Best Employers 2024 through an independent survey from a sample of more than 40,000 Canada-based employees from all industry sectors working for companies employing at least 500 people within Canada. Over 900,000 employer evaluations were considered. The final score is based on evaluations from current and previous employees, and participant evaluations of employers in their respective industries or of friends, acquaintances or family members.

“One of NYGH’s four strategic directions is People Come First in Everything We Do,” said Mitch Birken, Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. “This starts with living our shared values of excellence, respect, integrity, compassion and collaboration and creating a supportive and inclusive environment that empowers people to thrive and provide extraordinary service to the North York community. It is exciting to be recognized as one of Canada’s best employers and demonstrates our commitment to be an exceptional place for people to work and grow their careers.”
