North York General Hospital (NYGH), Canada’s number one Community Academic Hospital (Newsweek), has launched a moving campaign to raise awareness and community support for its transformative expansion and modernization plans.

“NYGH is excited to undertake the largest expansion in our history with an innovative new long-term care development and new Patient Care Tower being built in the coming years,” said Dr. Everton Gooden, President and CEO, NYGH. “We serve one of Toronto’s fastest growing areas with the highest percentage of seniors.  We need modern infrastructure and services to continue providing the highest standard of care to people throughout life.  Our Here for Life campaign brings the public inside NYGH to see the exceptional care provided by our hard-working teams to diverse communities across North York and beyond.”

The campaign theme Here for Life represents the outstanding care, compassion and expertise provided at North York General, along with NYGH’s promise to work with partners to help our communities be as healthy as possible throughout every life stage. A short film “Blink” captures how many of life’s defining moments happen at the hospital in a blink of an eye – having a baby, requiring emergency care, receiving a diagnosis, having surgery, beating an illness, regaining independence, and saying farewell to a loved one. The consistently high standard of care at NYGH is made possible by ongoing support and investment from the Ontario Government and other government partners and our generous donors who help fund vital needs from upgraded equipment to new care environments.

“Donors are vital at North York General. This campaign is about shining a light on who we are and making know to a wider audience what our patients, donors and many others already known about our hospital – that it’s a true gem in our city,” said Seanna Millar, President and CEO, North York General Foundation. “The campaign captures North York General in a compelling, authentic, moving way and we are already seeing it resonate deeply with our donors and community.”

With crucial support of the North York General Foundation, this campaign is visible through billboards, TV ads, cinema pre-show, print ads, social media and throughout the hospital. Visit the campaign website at NYGHFoundation.ca/HereForLife or donate at hereforlifenygh.ca
