Take Action. Get your mammogram!

September 26, 2023

In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, North York General Hospital (NYGH) is participating in Mammothon – a breast screening marathon targeting women aged 50 to 74 who are overdue for or have never had a mammogram. Two of NYGH’s imaging sites will join several Ontario Breast Screening Program locations to screen as many women as possible for breast cancer.

To participate, you must be an Ontario resident with no history of breast cancer. People who have not had their mammogram within the last two years are encouraged to get up to date by participating in Mammothon!

The dates and times for Mammothon at NYGH’s imaging sites are:

September 30, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the NYGH General site (4001 Leslie, BMO Breast Diagnostic Clinic, 1st Flr)

October 3, from 8 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. at the NYGH Outpatient and Community Services Centre (2 Champagne Drive, Unit E7)

October 5 from 8 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. also at the NYGH Outpatient and Community Services Centre (2 Champagne Drive, Unit E7)

Walk-in or book an appointment by calling 416-756-6931. No doctor’s referral is required.

For more information about Mammothon and a list of other participating sites, visit mammothon.ca. Those unable to attend are encouraged to book a mammogram at another time and should book directly with their nearest OBSP location (no doctor referral required). A list of all locations with contact details can be found at cancercareontario.ca/obsplocations.
