October 5, 2020

Toronto – Following discussion that started at the end of the summer President and CEO, Dr. Joshua Tepper and the Board of Governors of North York General Hospital have jointly agreed on his leaving the organization, effective October 5, 2020.

Dr. Tepper will immediately assume the new role of Strategic Advisor reporting to the Deputy Minister of Education supporting the Ministry’s current health related work in Ontario’s education system. We wish him the best in this new important role.

The Board of Governors would like to thank Dr. Tepper for his time at the hospital where he worked on building the hospital’s strategic plan, was instrumental in the creation of the newly formed Ontario Health Team, North York Toronto Health Partners, and worked with patient, primary care and community leaders to build new models to care for our community.

Karyn Popovich, Executive Vice President Clinical Services, Quality & Long Term Care (SHC) has been appointed Interim President and CEO while the Board commences a search.
